Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 18, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shelfmade ("Service"), provided by Super Kind Company ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Shelfmade is a personal home-library cataloging tool that lets you scan, organize, lend, and analyze the books you own. Features and limits depend on your plan.
2. Eligibility & Account
You confirm that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
- send spam, malware, or attempt to compromise security;
- scrape, probe, or interfere with the Service or other users;
- infringe third-party intellectual property or privacy rights;
- reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service or circumvent technical limits.
4. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, designs, branding, and documentation, is and remains the property of Super Kind Company and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the plan you have selected. You retain ownership of the content you add (book lists, notes, ratings); you grant us a limited license to host and process that content solely to provide the Service.
5. Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds
Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) at the price shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. See our Refund Policy for details on refunds.
6. Service Availability
We work hard to keep Shelfmade reliable, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible issue. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
7. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate our policies. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. On termination, you may export your library as CSV before your data is deleted.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or where exclusion is prohibited by law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Super Kind Company's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
